If you are not signed in to Backup and Sync before installation: Refer to Use Google Drive for desktop for more information on the app.

Click Open Drive for desktop at the end of the wizard to get started.

You don’t need to be at your computer during the scan and will receive a report when the scan is complete.

The scan can take anywhere from a few minutes to multiple hours.

If applicable, after Google Drive for desktop is set up, Backup and Sync will be uninstalled.

The wizard will copy your settings and guide you through setup.

If you have multiple accounts signed in to Backup and Sync, you will be given the opportunity to move them all to Drive for desktop. Sign in with your UMICH (Level-1) credentials when the application starts.

macOS: Open Applications and then Google Drive.

Windows: Open Start and then Google Drive.
